Hiking

A popular hiking haven for both Norwegians and international visitors, Gautefallheia offers over 100 km of marked trails winding through the scenic areas of Gautefall- and Heimdalsheia.

Climbing

Gautefallheia offers climbing opportunities for all skill levels, with natural rock formations and scenic surroundings. Whether you're a beginner or experienced climber, the area invites adventure and exploration in a safe and beautiful environment. Scattered around all four cabin areas you find boulder rocks of all sizes.

Mountain Biking

Gautefallheia has become a globally acclaimed mountain biking destination. The area features over 100 km marked mountain biking trails across the unique slickrock landscape of Gautefall- and Heimdalsheia.

Cross-country Skiing

All of our cabin areas are connected to Gautefallheia’s extensive network of cross-country skiing tracks, which offers freshly groomed tracks in stunning natural surroundings.

Swimming

The lakes Rosstjønn, Reinsvatn and Bjønntjønn––and other smaller lakes––offer various opportunities for swimming and other water activities. Surrounding the lakes are multiple spots for picnics, relaxing on the rocks and beaches, and soaking up the sun while swimming or watching others swim.

Kayaking

Explore the calm waters of our lakes by kayak or canoe! Paddle through peaceful surroundings and enjoy the stillness of nature — a perfect way to unwind and connect with the outdoors.

SUP-ing

Stand-up paddleboarding is a fun and relaxing way to enjoy the water. The calm water makes it ideal for both beginners and experienced paddlers looking for balance, sun, and serenity.

Fishing

All our lakes allow fishing, but Nedre Feletjønn and Rosstjønn offer the best chances for a great catch.

Disc golfing

Construction of the disc golf course began in early autumn 2022. All 18 holes were completed in 2024. From 2025 onwards, more information and trail maintenance will be undertaken to complete the course.

Disc Golf Course Rules at Felehovet Nord:

Park only at the designated area at the entrance to Felehovet Nord, on the right-hand side.
Be considerate of hikers and other area users. Wait until trails and paths are clear before throwing.
Avoid throwing discs near cabins and parked cars to prevent damage.
Keep dogs leashed and under control.
Use the area responsibly—take your trash home and help keep the site clean.
Remember, the course is open to everyone, so play respectfully and share the area with others.

Meet the Farmen 2020 Winner

After winning the 2020 edition of the reality show Farmen, Per Gunvald Haugen, chose one of our scenic plots for building the cabin. Since 2021 he and his partner Karianne Amli Wahlstrøm (who he met during the reality show!) have been happy owners of the small modern style cabin with epic west-facing views towards the many mountains in the horizon.

A family business

Erling and Sverre are the 3rd and 4th generation of the family land and business developed by Olaus H. Dale in the early 1960s. There were four ‘founding fathers’ of Gautefallheia, and it all started with Olaus. Erling has been carrying the family legacy on for nearly 35 years now. Ten years ago Sverre took charge and bought the land from his father. Erling is still going strong and selling plots with his son at the age of 80.
